Davis left Bowman Academy without receiving a Division I scholarship.
Before transferring to Los Angeles Southwest College, where he played primarily point guard as a sophomore, he played power forward as a freshman at Paris Community College in Texas.
There, he averaged 23.8 points on 48% shooting, 6.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Davis informed The Courier-Journal that he was receiving offers from N.C. State, Oregon State, and Saint Louis at the time of his commitment to U of L.
However, he did not post on social media about having received a scholarship from any of those universities.
According to Davis, Payne’s recruiting “sealed the deal” when he took a flight to Los Angeles on a weekend off in January.
He recounted how encouraging it was to learn how much the coach “needed me.”

Koron Davis Louisville Basketball Wikipedia And Age
The dedicated page of Koron Davis Louisville Basketball Wikipedia is not available but we can find some of his details on other sites. He might be in his mid-20s.
The 6-foot-6, 185-pound guard came to the Cardinals from LA Southwest during the previous offseason, but he hasn’t appeared in any of Louisville’s nine games during the regular season.
He played just nine minutes in the exhibition game against Simmons College, going 0-for-3 with one assist, one rebound, and two turnovers. That was the only action he ever saw.
Less than a week before the regular season started, on November 1, many reports started circulating about a possible physical incident between head coach Kenny Payne and Davis after practice.

Because of how widespread the claims were, Louisville eventually had to refute them in a statement given to a few local media outlets.
Basketball practice “has not and has not been the scene of any incidents,” SID Zach Greenwell stated to Louisville Report. “This is untrue—UofL held an open practice for athletic department employees with dozens of people in attendance.”
Davis was conspicuously absent from the Louisville Cardinals’ bench during their Nov. 15 victory against Coppin State, after his absence from the team’s lineup in their opening two regular-season games.
After the game, Payne was questioned about it and stated that although he had chosen to keep Davis at home, the guard was not in any danger.
Why Was He Dismissed?
Koron Davis was fired by Louisville, the university announced hours after the junior guard declared he would be transferring.
Shortly before Wednesday night’s game against Arkansas State, the school issued a brief statement expressing its support for Davis and its wishes for him to have a successful future.
There were no specifics regarding his termination in the release. The same feeling was stated in a one-sentence release earlier in the day announcing his decision to transfer.
But shortly after the school made the news, Davis resorted to social media to claim that he never informed the school of his desire to transfer.
“I didn’t express to anyone at U of Louisville that I wanted to transfer,” he stated. “I didn’t request to move. Being a Cardinal is fun for me.
It is depressing and tragic that a formal declaration with misleading facts was made public.”
Davis did not talk to the media while watching the Cardinals lose to the Red Wolves 75-63.
After the game, Louisville’s second-year coach Kenny Payne remarked, “It’s emotional for me because he’s a good kid,” without going into further detail about the contradicting claims. This is one of those situations where we’ve already dealt with it.
