“Officers searching for four missing teenagers in the Porthmadog area have located the vehicle they were traveling in,” a statement from North Wales Police stated on Tuesday.
“Families of those involved have been kept informed, and emergency services are currently at the scene.”
On Tuesday at 4:30 a.m., a coastguard helicopter searched the Glaslyn Nature Reserve before landing back at the base.
On Monday, the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue also looked for the teenagers’ car but could not find it.
The rescue team chairman, Chris Lloyd, stated: “We received a call from North Wales Police early this afternoon. Searching for any signs that they were on the mountain was our first task.
“We sent out two or three squads through every parking lot. The automobile is not here. We’re still actively searching for it and will keep looking. There isn’t a designated search area.
Harvey’s mother, Crystal Owen, told the BBC she was traveling to North Wales to be nearer the search and rescue effort.
Ms. Owen expressed her desperation for more information, saying she didn’t know her son had gone camping.
“Given the winter weather conditions, I wouldn’t have allowed him if I had known where he was going,” the woman remarked.
