A self-confessed cheapskate has revealed she saves money on food each month by turning her own feces into compost that she uses to grow vegetables.
Former pro-wrestler Goldy Locks, 44, went on TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates to help a family out of their financial hole – by convincing them to instead dig a backyard garden and fill it with their own bodily waste.
Goldy, who’s previously appeared on the show as one of its ‘cheapskates,’ claimed the strategy allows her to spend a mere $84 per month on food for herself.
Raking in $7400 per month, the Stapletons – dad Kevin, mom Tracy and their two teenage sons – estimated they spent at least $1800 of that on groceries along with $700 at restaurants to Goldy’s horror.

On entering the household, Goldy is also confronted with an ocean of shipping boxes overtaking the living and dining rooms – the results of Tracy’s online shopping habit.
After meeting with the family of four about their expenditures, it’s discovered that they’ve been spending nearly $600 more per month than they bring it.
‘The work, Monday through Friday, month to month, and to see it all just go out the window – have no back up plan, no savings… it’s a hard pill to swallow,’ Kevin said.
He added: ‘I’d like to retire one day.’
Of the realization that her family is broke, Tracy confessed that it ‘just makes me feel really guilty. I seriously don’t know how I got here.’
Goldy, meanwhile, had a surprise in store for the family.
After heading out to a waiting van, she procured several large plastic buckets of what she described as a ‘pretty personal gift’ for the Stapletons.
‘This is rich in so many nutrients, and it is a slam dunk for growing an incredible garden,’ Goldy explained, adding that her particular strain of compost can’t be purchased at a hardware or garden store.

She explained to the family that her special ‘personal’ compost couldn’t be purchased at a hardware or garden store
It was only after she had the family members touch and smell the contents that she revealed: ‘I make it out of my own poo!’
The family’s kneejerk reaction was understandably one of revulsion, with Kevin chiming in that he can understand using animal manure, but ‘I don’t think I can go human… it’s just gross.’
In a confessional, Goldy admitted that she ‘secretly … really enjoyed watching watching the Stapletons squirm.’
‘All they need to do is dump kitchen scraps, then you’re going to layer it with some of your human poo – and in between each time you poo, you throw in leaves crunched up, or sawdust, it covers the smell,’ she explained.
‘In a year, it will have dissolved into the most incredible soil. You’ve turned waste into resources. Absolutely brilliant.’

The younger son later admitted he didn’t mind doing his business in the backyard, saying: ‘It’s not that bad. It’s kind of calming’
Still, responding to Goldy imploring the family that they’ve ‘got to give it a try,’ Kevin bluntly responded: ‘Yeah… that’s a big no.’
He further stressed: ‘I don’t work this hard to poop in a backyard.’
But Goldy wouldn’t quit until she won them over, crafting a makeshift cardboard outhouse from all of the boxes the family had lying around thanks to compulsive Tracy’s online shopping.
The younger son ultimately admitted of doing his business in the backyard: ‘It’s not that bad! It’s kind of calming… if it’s nice out, and there’s some wind.’
