Bad Bunny has not appeared in a WWE match since his memorable victory over Damian Priest in the San Juan Street Fight at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico. In a recent interview, Priest shared insight on whether fans can expect to see the music superstar back in the squared circle.
As one of the most globally recognized performers in the music industry, Bad Bunny made a major splash in WWE when he teamed with Priest to defeat The Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania 37. He also competed in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble, further solidifying his wrestling credentials.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Priest emphasized that the door is always open for Bunny’s return—whenever he feels prepared to make it happen:
“Whenever he’s ready. That’s up to him, as far as when he’s ready physically and mentally. Easy for me to say next week, but he has to be actually ready, and I know the way he is—he’d wanna do it properly and train properly. So, whenever he’s down, he’s always welcome.” [0:28 – 0:43]
Bad Bunny’s current schedule and Priest’s support
Bad Bunny is currently committed to a 30-show residency in San Juan, running from July 11 to September 14. During the same interview, Priest confirmed he plans to attend one of the concerts this weekend, showing his continued support for his close friend.
Priest’s role in Bad Bunny’s wrestling journey
Like many celebrities entering WWE, Bad Bunny trained intensively to prepare for his matches. Other public figures, such as Jelly Roll, have recently shared that they’ve received help from major WWE names like The Undertaker and Kevin Owens ahead of their debuts.
Priest revealed that he played a significant part in helping Bunny get ring-ready in the past:
“For both his matches, I had a lot to do with his training, so obviously I’m always down to help him out whenever he’s ready.” [0:47 – 0:54]

Priest’s current WWE storyline
At present, Damian Priest is entangled in a rivalry with Aleister Black. On the July 11 episode of SmackDown, Black ambushed Priest in a backstage segment following his loss to R-Truth, further intensifying their ongoing feud.
