Watergate Scandal and Rise to Stardom

It was in June 1972 that he, alongside Bob Woodward was assigned to cover the break-in at the Watergate office complex. He and Woodward worked hard on the whole case, and with their help, the police discovered that President Richard Nixon was involved in the whole scandal. Bernstein was awarded the Pulitzer Award for his work on the whole case. In 1977 he left The Washington Post only to start his own research about the relationship between the CIA and American media during the Cold War; his work was published in Rolling Stone magazine as a 25,000 words piece. After this, he started working for ABC News and has changed between a few more newspapers, including working for Time magazine.
