Born Cheslie Corrinne Kryst, Cheslie Kryst was an American model, television correspondent, and the 2019 Miss USA.
The beautiful lady was also an attorney and had worked as a correspondent for the syndicated news broadcasting newsmagazine, Extra, until her death.
It has been nearly a year since the two-time Daytime Emmy Awards nominee passed away. Cheslie Kryst’s mother recently shared a heartbreaking tribute at Miss Universe 2023.
The former Miss USA titleholder died after falling from her apartment building in Midtown Manhattan on 30 January 2022. The coroner declared her death to be a suicide the next day. The gorgeous lady was 30 at the time of her demise.
Cheslie Kryst Parents – Rodney Kryst And April Simpkins – And Siblings
Cheslie Kryst was welcomed by her parents – April Simpkins and Rodney Kryst, on 28 April 1991 in Jackson, Michigan. The late model grew up with her four brothers – Asa, Chandler, Jet, and Brooklyn.

The TV correspondent’s brother, Asa Kryst, is a professional soccer player. Unlike Asa, there aren’t many details about another Kryst bunch. Hopefully, they are doing well.

While her mom is an African-American, her dad is Polish-American. April had also participated in pageantry and crowned Mrs. North Carolina U.S. when Cheslie was little.
The Kryst family moved from Michigan to Charlotte, NC and later settled in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst was remembered at the Miss Universe 2023 competition after a year of her tragic death.

Her mother, April, shared a moving message during the broadcast. The former Mrs. North Carolina U.S. said many people might already know that the late model dealt with depression.
In a statement released on 2 February 2023, Cheslie Kryst’s mom, April Simpkins, disclosed that she had high-functioning depression.
Simpkins continued that Cheslie that we witnessed didn’t always match how she felt inside. She urged people to listen when they check in on their friends and create a safe space to share if they are challenged or troubled.
While emphasizing mental health, Simpkins announced a partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness – NAMI. It has established the Cheslie C Kryst Memorial Fund for Mental Health.
As per Cheslie’s mom, the fund would focus on mental health challenges such as high-functioning depression.
“It is an honor to share Cheslie’s story with you tonight, and I ask you do the same. Share it with others in the hope that by working together, we can end the Stigma and encourage more open discussion of mental health. Be well,” said April Simpkins.

How Did Cheslie Kryst Die?
The beautiful woman Cheslie Kryst lived on the ninth floor of the building in Midtown, Manhattan. The 2019 Miss USA shared a snap of herself on Instagram just hours before her death.
In the caption, she wrote, “may this day bring you peace and rest.” The former beauty pageant reportedly jumped from 350 West 42nd Street, and 60-story high-rise apartment building. She was last spotted on the building’s terrace, on the 29th floor.
The former Miss USA’s devastated family shared the tragic news and said Cheslie’s demise left them with great sorrow. The family addressed the model for her great light, beauty, and strength.
The Extra family also paid their tribute, saying Cheslie wasn’t just a part of their show, but she was a beloved part of them.
