During his time there, he participated in competitive speech events.

After matriculating from high school, he then enrolled at Southern Methodist University (SMU), located in University Park, Texas, with two other satellite campuses in nearby locations. It was founded in 1911 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, though it later became non-sectarian in its teaching. According to reports, they have over 11,000 students from all 50 states and 83 countries. They have eight schools offering a variety of programs, including the Cox School of Business, the Guildhall, the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, and the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development.
Rise to Fame – The Office
After completing his education, Baumgartner moved to Los Angeles to start his acting career, but then went to Minneapolis, Minnesota to serve as the artistic director for Hidden Theatre. During his time there, he received multiple awards for his acting and artistic efforts. He continued working in theatrical projects, performing at the Guthrie Theatre, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, and the Berkeley Repertory Theatre. It was only a matter of time before he started to do on-screen work, and he became a guest in several shows, including “Arrested Development”, and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”.

In 2005, he gained his biggest role in the show “The Office”, a sitcom which aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013, and is an adaptation of the BBC series of the same name. The show follows the lives of employees in the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company and was filmed to simulate an actual documentary; it starred Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, James Spader, and many more. After a rough start, the show got its stride and gained widespread acclaim from television critics and viewers. It won numerous awards over the course of its run, including a Golden Globe, Peabody, Primetime Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

During his time in “The Office”, Brian won a Daytime Emmy Award alongside Angela Kinsey and Oscar Nunez for their work on the web episodes entitled “The Office: The Accountants”. He had a three episode role in “Melissa & Joey”, which is a sitcom starring Joey Lawrence and Melissa Joan Hart, which aired for four seasons, and follows the story of a local politician who hires a victim of a Ponzi scheme to look after her niece as well as her nephew. Other projects he had in the following year include “Chicago Fire”, “Scream Queens”, and “Life in Pieces”. In 2019, he voiced several characters in the Cartoon Network animated series called “Summer Camp Island”. The show follows two childhood best friends who are dropped off at a magical summer camp, and who experience numerous bizarre occurrences.

For his personal life, it is known that Baumgartner married Celeste Ackelson in 2014 in a wedding which received a lot of coverage from the media; this was especially due to the fact that the wedding felt like a reunion of “The Office”, with many stars of the show attending as guests, including John Krasinsky and his wife Emily Blunt, Jenna Fischer, Oscar Nunez and Angela Kinsey.
