Are they going to steal each other’s hearts?
“Caught Stealing” co-stars Zoe Kravitz and Austin Butler play love interests in the upcoming film, but have sparked real-life romance rumors after they were seen kissing on set in October 2024, a month before filming wrapped.
The 36-year-old actress also shockingly called off her engagement to Channing Tatum that same month after three years of dating.
Neither Kravitz, 36, nor Butler, 33, have addressed their apparent spark, but, a source close to the Kravitz family told Page Six, “it’s nothing serious” as her star continues to soar.
“With Austin, it’s an opportunity to have fun, keep her mind off things right now. I’m sure she’s not the happiest with what happened [with Tatum]; it’s a good way for her to have fun and hang out. Who wouldn’t be interested in Zoe?
“She is gaining the clout that can definitely help someone’s career. He’s [Butler] the ‘it’ guy in Hollywood, she’s the ‘it’ girl. I’m sure he’s not opposed to the attention,” the source said.
Butler’s rep denied there was any romance between the two.
Kravitz was also photographed leaving a Los Angeles bar in March with “To All the Boys” actor Noah Centineo, 28, ahead of the Oscars.
Tatum, meanwhile, was spotted with his new girlfriend, Australian model Inka Williams, 25, last month in West Hollywood shortly after a pre-Oscars party in Los Angeles in February.
The source told Page Six that Kravitz’s mom and dad, Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz, “loved” Tatum, but the timing for their relationship wasn’t right.
“They [Lisa and Lenny] loved him. They absolutely loved him. There was no explosive fighting or anything going seriously wrong or craziness happening [between Channing and Zoe]. It seemed like they were in different places, and it didn’t work for them,” the source said.
“Zoe’s star is on the rise. His star is on its decline a bit,” the source said.
In February, Kravitz fondly recalled memories of making her thriller “Blink Twice” — which she wrote, directed and produced — with Tatum, and that their breakup had not changed how she felt about directing and working with her then-significant other on the film.
“I love this thing that we made together, and I care for him very much,” the multi-hyphenate star told Elle in a cover story.
“Even when you bring up how great his performance is, it warms my heart to hear that, and I’m so happy that all of it happened. I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”
Kravitz also hyped up her former fiancé, saying Tatum “has so much more coming, and I think he’s in a place as an actor where he’s feeling really confident, and people are seeing different sides of him. He’s got a lot to offer.”
Tatum’s breakthrough role was 2006’s “Step Up,” where he met and began dating his now ex-wife Jenna Dewan. He then famously portrayed a male stripper in the “Magic Mike” in 2012, loosely based on his real life experience as an exotic male dancer.
In May 2013, he and Dewan welcomed their daughter, Everly, now 11. But around that time, the Cullman, Alabama, born star admitted to having struggles with alcohol off screen.
“I probably drink too much, you know,” Tatum told GQ in 2014, confessing: “I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic,” he told the magazine at the time, adding that he drinks to help calm his mind.
“There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time,” he said.
He crossed paths with Kravitz while filming the animated film “The Lego Batman Movie” in 2017, in which they both had voice roles.
In 2018, Tatum and Dewan, 44, announced their split after nine years of marriage, citing in a joint statement Dewan posted on Instagram at the time: “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple.”
Kravitz, meanwhile, married her boyfriend of three years, Karl Glusman, in 2019. They filed for divorce just over a year later.
She and the “Magic Mike” star went public in August 2021 when she was photographed on the back of Tatum’s bike in New York. Days later, they were spotted grocery shopping together.
The actress and director then had Tatum as her first choice to play protagonist Slater King, a psychopath tech billionaire, in “Blink Twice.”
“I just knew from ‘Magic Mike’ and his live shows, I got the sense he’s a true feminist, and I wanted to collaborate with someone who was clearly interested in exploring this subject matter,” she told Deadline.
The Kravitz family source said they could see how Zoe’s confidence could be daunting for her partner.
“At times, her ability to be extremely confident could be challenging to Channing – he has confidence, he is confident, but he also has vulnerability. Vulnerability can chip away at your confidence if you don’t keep it in check.
“Zoe has always known who she is and has not had a lot of unsure moments in her life. That makes her a lot stronger in where she comes from.”
Kravitz grew up as Hollywood royalty. The daughter of rock star Lenny Kravitz, 60, and former “Cosby Show” star Lisa Bonet, 57.
Although her parents split when she was still young in 1993, she split her time between Los Angeles — where she was raised by Bonet and Jason Momoa as her stepfather — and New York and Miami, where Lennny lives.
“[Lenny’s] been extremely supportive of her work. Very proud of her and very much dedicated to her success. They do have a strong relationship. I do believe that’s because he [Lenny] aligns with what she does and where she’s looking to go,” the source told Page Six.
“Lisa is more of a private person. Definitely more low key.”
A designer who has worked with both Lenny and Zoe told The Post: “The two of them are authentically themselves. It’s evolved over the years to really encompass everything — you hear it in his music, his style, and the brands they support.
“There’s a softness to [Zoe’s] presence. For someone who is so accomplished, she doesn’t have an ego or anything.”
Kravitz has carved a name for herself in her own right, playing supporting roles in action films such as “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the “Divergent” series, and “Big Little Lies.”
In 2022, she landed her biggest film role to date as Catwoman alongside Robert Pattinson in “The Batman.”
In October 2023, she and Tatum got engaged while making “Blink Twice,” which chronicles Frida, a cocktail waitress (Naomi Ackie) swept off her feet by a tech billionaire (Tatum) to a private island where things get dark, with women being drugged and assaulted.
In March 2022, Zoe told Elle about the potential of starting a family one day, saying she is in no rush.
“We all go from being the baby, where you’re like, ‘I have so much time.’ And then, all of the a sudden, your gynecologist is like, ‘Want to freeze your eggs? And I’m like, ‘I hadn’t even thought about that. But I don’t feel pressured to have kids by a certain time if I ever have kids. I still want to go on adventures, have fun nights, and see the sunrise.”
Tatum and Kravitz did not have a wedding date set, the source close to the family said. However, they believe they can find their way back to each other.
“I don’t think her or Channing predicted that there would be a breakup like that. Both are going to lay low for a while. I don’t believe either would be seriously involved with someone else for a while.
“What she had with Channing was very solid and real. I do believe they love each other, and they were a great couple. I could see them coming back together,” the source close to the Kravitz family said.
