Dozens of people are being evacuated from a high-rise apartment building in inner Sydney after a car exploded into flames in the basement. 

The car fire occurred in Zetland, in Sydney’s inner east, on Friday morning.

Fire and Rescue NSW tweeted: ‘Car on fire in an underground carpark of a high rise apartment building on Ebsworth Street.’ 

FRNSW said 70 people had evacuated so far.
