A man has been charged with murder over the execution shooting of a notorious Lone Wolf bikie in front of his wife in his apartment block carpark.

Yusuf Nazlioglu was gunned down as he returned to his home in Rhodes in Sydney’s inner west with his wife in June.

His wife Jade, to whom he had only been married four months, frantically rang the police after Nazlioglu was shot around ten times. He was rushed to hospital, where he died a short time later.

The shooter fled the scene in a hatchback which was later found burnt out in nearby Leeds St.

Nazlioglu was one of two men found not guilty of the murder of Comanchero bikie boss Mick Hawi in 2018 despite underworld figures claiming Nazlioglu was the gunman.

On Wednesday morning a man was hauled shirtless from a home in Blair Athol, in Sydney’s south-west.

He was taken to Campbelltown police station where he was charged with the Lone Wolf bikie’s murder.

Police will allege in court the 25-year-old was involved in the planning and coordination of the execution-style killing.

The State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Burwood Police commenced Strike Force Claypinch to investigate the incident in conjunction with inquiries by Taskforce Erebus into several fatal shootings and criminal activities by organised crime networks across Sydney.

These investigations led detectives to a property in Blair Athol where they executed a search warrant about 6am on Wednesday as well as two further search warrants at homes in Mt Pritchard and Kemps Creek.

Detectives seized cannabis, cash, electronic devices and other items to undergo forensic examination in the raids.

The 25-year-old man was arrested at the Blair Athol home and taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court later today.

Underworld figures claimed Nazlioglu was the gunman who gunned down Mick Hawi outside a Fitness First Gym at  Rockdale in February 2018.

Nazlioglu had been charged with Hawi’s murder, along with his friend and fellow Lone Wolf member Ahmad ‘Adam’ Doudar, 38.

He was accused of being the triggerman and Doudar of disposing of a getaway car.

Doudar would plead guilty to being an accessory after the fact to Hawi’s murder and was sentenced to a non-parole period of three years and four months in jail.

After a week of deliberations, a jury found Nazlioglu not guilty of murder, however, he subsequently pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of possessing a firearm and was jailed for three years.

It is also understood Nazlioglu was involved in several incidents leading up to his death.

He was involved in a confrontation with Mick Hawi’s mother at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney’s west while she visited Hawi’s plot and he was visiting where his friend was laid to rest.

Daily Mail Australia in no way suggests any of Hawi’s relatives had any involvement in the shooting of Nazlioglu.

The Lone Wolf bikie also was part of the extortion and theft of numerous luxury cars, including a Bentley, from an individual from a well-known Sydney crime family.

Nazlioglu’s death was one of 16 people killed on Sydney’s street as a result of Sydney’s bloody underworld war that spanned two years.
