A young mother has died after she was struck in a suspected hit and run south of Brisbane yesterday morning.

The 23-year-old woman was walking along a footpath on Allamanda Drive in Daisy Hill just after 9am when she was struck.

Police said the driver of a silver Toyota SUV failed to remain on the scene.

The mother was left unconscious and attended to by witnesses, including an off-duty nurse.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later passed away.

Anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
