‘WWHL’: Dave Bautista Recalls “Unexpected” Moment Jenna Bush Hager Ambushed Him About Dating Hoda Kotb

Jenna Bush Hager‘s quest to find Hoda Kotb a man is still ongoing. While Bush Hager attempted to set her co-host up with Dave Bautista on a recent episode of The Today Show, the WWE wrestler-turned-actor revealed that nothing more came from the hilarious suggestion.

Bautista appeared alongside his My Spy: The Eternal City co-star Ken Jeong on Monday night’s (July 22) episode of Watch What Happens Live, where host Andy Cohen grilled him about Kotb.

“I’m so happy you’re both here for a variety of reasons but I saw y’all on The Today Show recently. Jenna Bush was really trying to set you up with Hoda,” Cohen said. “Was that awkward for you? Did you exchange numbers? Did anything happen after that?”

Bautista replied, “No, no. It wasn’t awkward. It was unexpected.”

Jeong, who’s been married since 2004, then chimed in that “no one” tried to set him up on a date.

“Jenna looked at me [and said], ‘You look like you’ve been married for 20 years,’” he recalled. “A little different essence that I give off.”

The cast of the My Spy sequel sat down with Kotb and Bush Hager last week to promote their new movie. However, things took a playful turn when both co-hosts became flustered over a photo of a muscle-cladded Bautista in his WWE days.

“Wait, are you single, Dave?” Bush Hager asked. When he confirmed that he did not have a significant other, Bush Hager called out, “Hoda! Honestly, Hoda, get closer to Dave. Dave is handsome. You look great, Dave. We can see it.”

Jeong joked that there were “other stars” present, prompting Bush Hager to congratulate him on being married for 20 years.

“You say that as like a consolation prize. ‘Dave, you look amazing! Are you single? Oh, you’ve been married for some time,’” Jeong said. “Thanks, Jenna.”

Perhaps one day Bush Hager will find the right movie star for Kotb!

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
