A worker has been trapped in an excavator after a building collapsed on top of them at a demolition site in Sydney’s Inner West.

The 10-storey building fell onto the excavator just after 3pm today at the site on Railway Parade in Burwood.

It’s understood the structure became unstable during the demolition process, causing the building to fall.
