A worker in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after he was crushed by cows in Victoria.

He was inside a cattle truck at an abattoir in Geelong about 2pm today when he was injured by the cows.

He suffered serious injuries to his upper body.

Paramedics attended and managed to treat him inside the truck before rushing him by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

He was in a serious but stable condition and WorkSafe was notified.
