Public help is sought as police continue to investigate the suspicious death of a Queensland grandmother earlier this year, revealing they found her car in Brisbane’s north.

Wendy Hansen, 63, was last seen withdrawing cash from an ATM on Newton Street in Monto, about 170km west of Bundaberg, on February 29 this year.

She did not return home and could not be found or contacted, prompting a police search.

Homicide detectives are appealing for information on the death of Queensland grandmother Wendy Hansen, whose remains were found about 860km away from home in New South Wales earlier this year.

Police managed to obtain CCTV of Hansen driving south on the Bruce Highway, near Wild Horse Mountain on the Sunshine Coast, about 2.30pm on the same day she visited the ATM in Monto.

Hansen was last seen driving her silver 2007 two-door Mitsubishi Pajero, with Queensland plates reading 645TCZ.

On Tuesday, June 18, police found human remains half buried in bushland near Jordan Esplanade, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.

Police this morning revealed they also found Hansen’s car in a carpark near Geebung Railway Station in northern Brisbane on Saturday, September 7.

The car was forensically examined, but Hansen’s personal items, including her mobile phone, were not inside, and remain missing.
