A woman’s body has been uncovered in a unit with police later finding her burnt out in bushland a short drive away.
A woman alerted police 4.15pm on Monday that she had found the body of the woman, who was known to her, in the unit on Colless St, Penrith in Sydney’s west.
The woman is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be the 28-year-old resident of the unit.

The deceased woman’s burnt out vehicle has been found in bushland at Castlereagh near Post Office road, approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the unit.

Police have seized the vehicle for forensic examination.
An extensive search of the area was unable to locate the vehicle’s driver.
