A woman is in a serious condition after being struck by a car and thrown onto the asphalt of a Sydney street.

The 30-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle which had mounted the kerb on Avoca Street in Randwick, at 11.10 am.

The car then reportedly side-swiped another vehicle and then crashed into a tree.

A 44-year-old man has been taken to St Vincent’s hospital in a stable condition.

The female pedestrian is reportedly in a serious but stable condition, with multiple limb fractures. 

Witness reports said she was thrown several metres after she was hit. 

Avoca Street and Frenchman’s Road remain open
