A woman has been found dead after going missing from a campsite in Queensland’s Darling Downs overnight.

The 21-year-old Brisbane woman was last seen at the campgrounds on Inverramsay Road, Goomburra Valley, around 11.40pm.

When she couldn’t be located, emergency services were called and a search and rescue operation was launched.

An aerial search was conducted and a land-based search resumed at first light this morning.

The woman was located deceased nearby around 8am and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
