A woman is fighting for her life after she was struck by a vehicle during an alleged car theft.
The 54-year-old woman was hit by a car, which had allegedly been stolen from a home in Morala Avenue, in Runaway Bay, Gold Coast, at about 4pm on Saturday.
Queensland Police allege three teenagers entered the home and stole a black Mercedes.
‘The occupants attempted to prevent their black Mercedes from being stolen,’ Queensland Police said.
It is understood the 54-year-old woman and another woman, aged in her 20s, tried to stop the vehicle, which blocked the driveway after reversing and crashing into an electric gate.
The woman was then struck when the teenagers allegedly fled the scene in the stolen Mercedes.
Paramedics treated her at the scene before she was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The other woman was also assessed at the scene but did not require further treatment.

Police tracked the car to the M1 Pacific Motorway Yatala South Interchange, roughly 10km away, and arrested three teenagers at 4.30pm.
A crime scene has been established on Morala Avenue and investigations are ongoing.
