The woman, from Tarneit in the city’s west, is in a critical condition.

She was flown to the Alfred Hospital after she somehow came out of the Honda Sedan driven by a 28-year-old man, at 11.30am.

The man stopped and has spoken to Victoria Police.

One lane of the road was closed at Little River, 45km from the city after the incident, with traffic queuing for kilometres.

Police are investigating and are appealing for anybody with any information to contact them.
