Emergency services were called to a home on Barracoota Crescent at Aldinga Beach at 3.30pm after a neighbour reported seeing smoke coming from the roof.
Fire crews quickly attended and extinguished the blaze.

Firefighters then found the body of a woman, believed to be the occupant of the home.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
