A 45-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found inside a burnt-out car in Western Australia

Police discovered the body in Springs, north of Boddington, on December 6 after fire crews responded to calls of a car set alight on Ricks Road about 12.25pm.

A 53-year-old man was found dead in the front passenger seat of the silver Holden Commodore sedan.

Homicide Squad detectives began investigating the incident, deeming the death as suspicious.

Police appealed to the public to assist in identifying a dark-coloured four-wheel drive on December 15.

Boddington is located 120km south-east of Perth.

A 45-year-old woman from Boddington has since been charged with multiple offences including murder, an attempt unlawfully to kill and stealing a motor vehicle.

She will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
