Police were called to a Coomera address on February 1 after the five-month-old girl suffered a cardiac arrest.

The girl was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital, where further testing confirmed she had significant internal injuries, police said.

Operation Victor Sector was formed by detectives from the Gold Coast District Child Protection and Investigation Unit after the incident.

A woman has since been charged with grievous bodily harm and will front Southport Magistrates Court on June 6.
