A woman has been attacked by multiple dingoes on K’gari, off the coast of Queensland.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics were responding to reports a patient had received “multiple bite wounds from dingoes”.

The attack took place at about 9.15am.

She is now receiving first aid.

The Queensland Department of Environment and Science said in a statement the woman had suffered injuries to the lower half of her body.

Four dingoes (also known as “wongari”) chased her into the ocean near Orchid beach.

“The full details of the incident are not yet known, and the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will conduct an investigation,” the DES said in a statement.

“It is believed she will be flown from the island to hospital.”
