After detectives attended the scene, the death was determined to be suspicious.

Just prior to the call about the collapse, police were called to another home on Walkerville Terrace after intruders were seen in the backyard.

A woman allegedly smashed a window at the rear of the property and entered the home while the occupants were inside.

A nearby property had earlier been broken into, police said. (9News)

Police responded and arrested the woman at the scene. She was taken to hospital with several lacerations.

A 30-year-old woman from Gilberton has been arrested in relation to the break-in as well as the man’s death.

She is expected to be charged with murder and will face court at a later stage.
