A strong cold front in the west of NSW has brought gusty westerly winds across the south and east.

Sydney today was buffetted by strong winds, hitting 17 degrees during the day.

Tomorrow will be dry and mostly sunny in NSW, as the BOM has forecast a high-pressure system to move overhead in the early half of next week.

Cold, vigorous westerly winds were also felt in Victoria thanks to a low over the Bass Strait.

Melbourne hit a maximum temperature of just 12 degrees during the day.

Sunday is set to be cool and mostly cloudy, with Monday and Tuesday looking cool and dry.

After a sunny day across Queensland, isolated showers are set to grace the east coast for the rest of the weekend.

Perth has several more days of rain on the near horizon, with westerly winds and cool temperatures expected for much of the next few days.

Hobart too will be raining and cool with a maximum of just 13 degrees tomorrow.

Adelaide will also see showers and high winds tomorrow.

It comes after the city has already recorded at least 10 days with rain, according to meteorology service Weatherzone.

Several more days of rain are expected.

Marine wind warnings are currently in place for every state.
