Industry Season 3 came to an exhilarating end last night on HBO, with Pierpoint’s London office shuttering, Yasmin (Marisa Abela) agreeing to marry Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), and Harper (Myha’la) setting her sights on conquering New York. There was a murder, a hot sex scene, and even the promise that massive changes were about to come.
So what does that mean for the future of Industry? Was that the Industry series finale? Or is HBO keen to make Industry Season 4?
Industry is one of the most incredible new dramas of the last decade, known for its seedy sex scenes, tense stakes, and creative chutzpah. Industry Season 3 was the first installment of the show to earn the coveted Sunday 9PM slot on HBO, positioning the cult fave as the premium network’s next big thing. But did Industry manage to win new fans? Is the show’s satisfying Season 3 finale meant to truly be the end? Or will there be an Industry Season 4?
Here’s everything we know so far about Industry Season 4…
Will There Be an Industry Season 4 on HBO?
Yes! There will be! On September 19, 2024, HBO revealed that they had renewed Industry for a fourth season.
That means that there will one hundred percent be more Industry in the future — and it may be bigger and bolder than ever before!
“We have a great Season 4 idea,” Industry co-creator and co-showrunner Mickey Down told Decider. “I mean, the characters are kind of a scattered across the chess board, but I think there’s definitely ways to bring them back together.”
We left Harper gearing up to take her financial business to New York, Pierpoint’s London office closing down, and Robert (Harry Lawtey) selling Little Labs’s microdosing business to some familiar faces in California. Sir Henry Muck is an investor in Little Labs and we know from Season 3 that fan favorite Gus (David Jonsson) is milling around San Francisco.
Could Industry Season 4 be stretched across America?
“The whole coda sequence after Pierpoint is shuttered, it was very important to us in terms of pushing the characters on into potentially new [storylines],” Industry co-creator and co-showrunner Konrad Kay said. “If we do a fourth season, we’d want it to feel bigger again than the third [season] and like what we want it to be.”
“It will never stop being about work and people’s relationships to work and what they get from it and their identities. But equally, if we’re going to do a fourth season, we want it to feel different from Season 3. And that means, again, expanding. And it suggests making the sandpit bigger in terms of what sorts of the genre elements of the show might bring into it.”
When Will Industry Season 4 Come Out on HBO and Max?
After news of Industry Season 4’s renewal came out, Konrad Kay tweeted out, “Season 4 coming soon.” Okay, but how soon?
Earlier seasons of Industry have taken anywhere from one to two years to produce, due to challenges presented by the pandemic and scheduling. The earliest we’d expect Industry Season 4, then, would be late 2025, but a safer bet would be 2026.
