Wild moment man leaps across a broken condo bridge in Bangkok to find family

Incredible footage has captured the moment a Korean man leapt across a broken sky walkway, 50 stories above ground, to reach another part of the swaying building in search of his wife and daughter.

Thai resident Kwon Young-jun, 36, engaged in the daring act shortly after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar on March 28.

The Thai capital of Bangkok, some 600 miles away, felt widespread shaking and saw significant damage from the quake, including the total collapse of a skyscraper under construction.

Young-jun was exercising in the gym on the 52nd floor of one of three blocks at the Park Origin Thonglor, a condo complex in the city, when disaster struck.

Viral footage shows the walkway bridge of the complex that connects it from one building to another, snapped in half.

Young-jun’s wife, known as Bowyuri and their one-year-old daughter were inside their home on the 30th floor in a neighboring block.

“At the time, my husband, Kwon, was working out at a gym on the 52nd floor of another building … when the building shook, my husband came across the skybridge connecting the buildings to look for me and my daughter. That scene was captured,” Bowyuri told local media.

He then walked down more than 40 floors after he realised everyone had evacuated. He was reunited with his wife and daughter outside the building, according to Singaporean publication, The Straits Times.
