Weezer bassist Scott Shriner’s wife Jillian Lauren was shot by police officers in Los Angeles Tuesday after authorities say she pointed a gun at a hit-and-run suspect, and refused to obey orders from officers on the scene.

The incident began with a hit-and-run in the LA neighborhood of Eagle Rock, police told TMZ Tuesday, noting that a trio of suspects exited their vehicle on foot and scattered.

All three had been running from the scene, police said, adding that Lauren, 51, came out from one of the nearby homes with a weapon in hand, though ‘it’s unclear whether she fired’ the gun, TMZ reported.

After Lauren did not listen to repeated commands from reporting officers, the LAPD told TMZ, officers shot at Lauren, hitting her shoulder.

Lauren, an author by trade, went back into the house after she was struck, and later emerged from the abode with her hands up in surrender, police told the outlet.

Lauren was subsequently booked in connection with attempted murder, sources confirmed to The New York Post Wednesday.

According to the paper, police said in a news release they were on the scene answering a misdemeanor hit-and-run call around 3:25 local time.

Lauren was with her female babysitter when she surrendered to authorities, according to the paper.

Lauren was taken to a nearby medical facility by paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire department, according to the outlet.

Medical professionals examined her for what was described as ‘a non-life-threatening gunshot wound’ following the violent series of events.

Police said that they took a 9-millimeter handgun from her home upon examining the abode in the wake of the unlikely scenario that played out Wednesday in Southern California.
