They believe the brutal attack was carried out by someone who knew him.

“His heart was huge and he was always willing and able to put others before himself,” Ms Berry said.

“My husband didn’t deserve any of this.

“I just want justice for all of our family and friends and most of all our two little girls.”

Mr Berry was due to face court on drug charges this Wednesday and had already served jail time for drug offences in 2016.

Police are probing a possible drugs link but keeping an open mind.

“There are still many many unanswered questions without a doubt,” Detective Inspector Chris Knight said.

“To be quite honest nothing is off the table at the moment in terms of our considerations.

“We know there is more people out there that have either opinions or have information that have not yet come forward to police.”

Officers want anyone with insight that can help build a profile of the tradie’s professional and personal lifestyle and associates to contact them.
