A Sydney woman has been charged over the alleged murder and dismemberment of her husband, who has been missing since July 2023.

Mamdouh Noufl, 63, was last seen in May 2023 at his home on Juno Parade in Greenacre, with known plans to travel overseas.

It wasn’t until July 1 – when his friends could not contact him – that he was reported missing, Homicide Squad Boss Danny Doherty said.

Initial investigations showed that Noufl had been active on social media, and had accessed his bank accounts.

But police allege that his wife Nirmeen Noufl had taken over his phone and social media accounts, which is why it took months for his family in Egypt, and his friends in Australia, to realise he was missing.

Nirmeen, 53, allegedly killed Noufl in their Greenacre home, before dismembering his body and disposing of it.

Doherty alleged that she “butchered” him, before putting the remains in separate plastic bags, and disposed of them in several rubbish bins in industrial areas across southwest Sydney.

He further alleged that she deeply cleaned the house and replaced the floors.

The Squad’s top detective alleged Nirmeen “benefited greatly from the demise of Noufl.”

“We will allege in court she is solely responsible for his murder, dismemberment and disposal,” Doherty said.

”[She benefited] financially and [obtained] a significant benefit through the properties sold.”

Police said they had been monitoring Nirmeen and believed she was a flight risk, which is why they arrested her at Bankstown Hospital yesterday, where she had self-presented.

He said his six children were still processing the loss of their father.

“They’ve lost their father in a brutal … bizarre manner,” Doherty said.

She was taken to Bankstown Police Station where she was charged with murder (DV).

The woman was refused police bail and appeared in Bankstown Local Court yesterday, where she was further refused bail.

She will reappear in Burwood Local Court on December 11.
