A woman has been charged with murdering her husband almost 18 months since he vanished under ‘suspicious’ circumstances.

NSW police allege Nirmeen Noufl, 53, cut up the body of 62-year-old Mamdouh Noufl in order to hide his remains.

She was arrested at a hospital in Bankstown on Thursday afternoon and charged with murder DV.

Noufl was refused bail and was remanded in custody after facing court on Friday.

An investigation into her husband’s disappearance began in July 2023 when police were called to a home in Juno Parade, in Greenacre, in Sydney’s west.

The 62-year-old had not been seen since May 2023 with police declaring his disappearance suspicious at the time.

Noufl is due to return to Burwood Local Court on December 11.

Investigations under Strike Force Tannerie continue.
