The United States has a big housing crunch, and one of the biggest reasons (there are many) is that Biden and Harris have let in 10 million+ illegal migrants and “refugees” over the past three years.
In other words, Harris, the Border Czar, caused the crisis to a great extent.
Now, she is promising to build three million homes during her term–a rather big boast.
So it’s fair to ask: what is her record when it comes to initiatives she was put in charge of? You know, ones like connecting rural homes to high-speed internet and getting the border under control? How about building out half a million EV chargers?

You know the answer: none of these things happened. In fact, despite over $40 billion allocated for the rural internet initiative nearly three years ago, not a single home has been connected.
Not one.
🚨VP Kamala Harris’s $42 billion broadband initiative failed to connect a single person, home, or business to the internet in 3 years.

The broadband initiative is particularly instructive because there is an obvious and easy solution to the problem that also happens to be inexpensive compared to the other options: sign a contract with Starlink, and you can call it a day. While that wouldn’t connect EVERY home, it could come as close as possible as fast as possible. Maybe some tiny number of people in weird geographic circumstances (the bottom of the Grand Canyon?)
String fiber or cable to tens of thousands of remote locations is frankly insane, which is one of the reasons not a bit of it has been done.
There is one and only one reason that Biden and Harris haven’t followed the obvious route to success: they hate Elon Musk, and want the money to go to their supporters. All that talk about helping people in rural areas–places filled with Trump supporters, not coincidentally–is all talk.
INCOMPETENCE: @ElonMusk built more than 50K EV chargers at a total cost of $1.1B. Biden’s $7.5 billion effort to build EV charging stations began in 2021 resulting in 7 or 8 completed chargers or .2 stations per month. The same will be true of Harris’ current talk about building homes. No doubt money will flow out to favored contractors at some point, but building actual homes people want will never happen in any serious numbers. It will be the federal government’s version of the California bullet train: a convenient way to shovel money to favored friends, with “helping people” a sorry excuse for the graft.
If we had real journalists who did their jobs of informing people, the sorry record of Harris’ failures and her enabling of graft would be a central topic of discussion. Instead, we get stories that pretend that Harris could possibly achieve her “goal” to relieve pressure on the housing market.
Bret Stephens asks Stephanie Ruhle why Kamala Harris has not done interviews and stated clearly what her policy positions are. Ruhle responds that ‘We don’t live in Nirvana’:

No, it will be another “solving the border crisis,” building 500,000 EV chargers, and connecting homes to broadband boondoggle.
As I have said before, our biggest enemy is the mainstream media. They are uninterested in informing people; they exist to push narratives. Covering Kamala’s failures would be the easiest story in the world to cover because it is a target-rich environment at the failures are so obvious.
Instead, we are fed a steady stream of lies and half-truths.
