Why Candace Cameron Bure And Raven-Symoné Don't Get Along

Candace Cameron Bure and Raven-Symone famously butted heads on “The View” when both served as co-hosts, with one of their most notorious disagreements coming when they discussed a bakery that refused to create a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. This drama went down in July 2015 when Candace defended their decision not to serve the customers. “I don’t think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association. It’s about constitutional rights. It’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with,” she noted, but that was totally not so Raven. “To me, it’s the same exact thing that they did back in the day saying that Black people couldn’t do certain things because it’s my ‘religious belief,'” Symone said. Things then got extra heated when Symone clapped back at Candace, “I refuse to associate with you right now.” Shade!

Of course, it’s no secret that the two have differing views and differing lifestyle choices. Former “Fuller House” star Candace has been married to her husband, Valeri Bure, since 1996, while Symone secretly married her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, in 2020. Symone has been open in her support for LGBTQ+ rights, though Candace saw some backlash for her stance on if LGBTQ+ couples should be featured in Great American Country’s Christmas movies after suggesting only straight love stories will be told.
