Whoopi Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday on this morning’s episode of The View — but things took a cheesy turn when the longtime moderator said she likes “to be eaten from time to time.”
Whenever a co-host celebrates their birthday on The View, they get to go around and show off some of their favorite products — which ultimately become gifts for the audience members. This time was no different, with Goldberg hosting a segment called “Whoopi’s Favorite Things.”
At one point, the longtime moderator approached a wheel of cheese with a photo of her face printed on it.
“I always wanted my face on cheese,” Sara Haines joked, while Goldberg cheekily added, “I like to be eaten from time to time.”
Immediately catching onto the NSFW innuendo, Haines turned and walked away in embarrassment before leaning over and hugging Goldberg. The audience, meanwhile, broke out into hysterics over the raunchy comment.
“Never mind!” Goldberg, who finally realized what she had implied, exclaimed. “This is a wheel of authentic Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy. This has been aged for 24 months and it’s a testament to Italian tradition and quality because it comes from the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, which is the official organization that promotes and safeguards Parmigiano Reggiano.”
“So, if you would like a wheel like this one,” Goldberg continued, but was cut off by Haines when she chimed in, “And eat Whoopi Goldberg.”
Goldberg quickly added, “And eat yourself! Put your own face on there.”
