Which Ranger wore his number best? Ranking the best Blueshirts by uniform, from No. 1 to No. 30

In Sunday’s Slap Shots, I did a (partial) ranking of the best numbers in NHL history. The idea for that was born last week, when I checked on Rangers who had worn No. 17 after the team acquired Will Borgen.

Kind of a dog’s breakfast, actually, with Dean Prentice, Brandon Dubinsky and Dave Balon leading a relatively short list of luminaries.

I wondered if 17 might be the least decorated number in Rangers history, did some research and now am able to present the definitive ranking of Blueshirts by the number from 1-to-30.

It’s a break from the season we all deserve, correct?
