7 Shows Like ‘Suits’ For Your Next Drama Binge

USA Network’s legal dramedy Suits has been sitting proudly in the Netflix Trending Now section since early June when it was added to the streaming platform. This means you very well may be one of the many people bingeing, re-bingeing, and just obsessing over the legal chronicles of inexperienced lawyer Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) and NYC’s best closer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), as they work together to win lawsuit after lawsuit while also keeping Mike’s lack of a bar license completely undercover.

While the show’s fictional law firm Pearson Hardman is obviously in New York City, you may be wondering if Suits was actually filmed in the Big Apple at all. Luckily, we have the answers. Keep reading to find out where Suits was filmed and more on Suit’s top filming locations.

Where was Suits filmed?

The pilot episode of Suits was filmed in New York City, where the series takes place. However, every episode of the next nine seasons was filmed in Toronto, Canada.

As a legal drama, most of the show takes place inside or around the Pearson Hardman law offices. The exteriors used for the office building were located in Toronto’s financial district rather than in New York City. To be exact, the Pearson Hardman law firm is actually the 51-story Bay Adelaide West building.

USA Network dished the details on how exactly the show’s production team created the New York City facade. “As for the interior office sets of Pearson Hardman, there were plenty of murals and backdrops of New York that were used to line the set windows,” writes Brian Silliman. With window backdrops for both daytime and night, along with yellow cabs and hot dog stands, Suits successfully convinced viewers that they were filming in the heart of New York City.

Another key location in the series is Harvey’s luxurious apartment. According to the Toronto Star, the apartment is in the city’s King West Area. Taking up the entire ninth floor of a 59-floor building, the penthouse is located at 20 Stewart Street, and is only accessible by a private elevator that opens directly into the residence.

Of course, there are many spots less critical to the series that Suits superfans can visit on their trips to Toronto. For instance, if you want to eat at some of the same restaurants that the characters did, Radio Times reports that characters have enjoyed dining out at Luma, Bymark, Rosewater Supper Club, and Crepe It Up. The outlet also revealed that Toronto’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel was used during a lobby scene in the episode “Play the Man,” and the hotel’s restaurant has appeared in the series as well.
