The View has a case of the missing co-hosts. While Alyssa Farah Griffin was absent from yesterday’s show — and has since returned — Joy Behar was out at the Hot Topics table this morning, marking her second day in a row away from the show (as loyal fans know, Behar takes Mondays off).
When the ladies walked out to their fresh Season 28 theme song, we were quick to notice that Behar was not filing out with them, much to our disappointment. It’s clear the studio audience felt the same; when Whoopi Goldberg confirmed Behar was missing, they let out a collective sound of disappointment.
The last time we wrote about Behar, she was sharing a scary story about an avocado mishap that landed her in the hospital. On the Nov. 8 episode of the show, Behar told the ladies about her experience with “avocado hand” as they welcomed chef Alex Guarnaschelli for a cooking segment to promote her new cookbook Italian American Forever.
“A couple of years ago, I got what they call avocado hand,” Behar said. “Be very careful when you cut an avocado. I stabbed myself, I had to go to the hospital.”
She added, “There is a thing called avocado hand, a lot of people do it. A lot of stupid people like me.”
Thankfully, she was okay — we can always count on Behar to keep us entertained! And of course, we miss her already. Here’s what we know about when she’ll be back on the show, why she’s gone, and how to tune into The View.
Where is Joy Behar on The View?
Shortly after Goldberg and her co-hosts sat down at the Hot Topics table, the moderator confirmed to the audience that Behar is out today, but didn’t give a reason for her absence. We can only hope it’s not another case of the dreaded avocado hand.
When will Joy Behar return to The View?
While we’re sad to have another day without Behar on the show, we won’t be without her for long. Goldberg shared, “Joy is out today, she’ll be back tomorrow.”
