Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are once again back on screen together in Air, which opens in theaters today.
Based on a true story, Air recounts the tale of how the shoe corporation Nike managed to woo up-and-coming NBA rookie Michael Jordan into a partnership, creating one of the most significant athlete-led shoe lines of all time.
Directed by Affleck, with a screenplay by Alex Convery, Air is all about ’80s nostalgia and the glory days of good-guy capitalism. Affleck stars as the billionaire and former Nike CEO Phil Knight, while Damon plays Sonny Vaccaro, a Nike marketing executive in charge of expanding Nike’s presence in basketball. Until the Jordan line, Nike had mostly been seen as a running shoe. But Sonny has his eye on a young player who he feels sure is going to be the greatest ever.

Where to watch the Nike movie Air:
Right now, Air is playing only in theaters, which means the only way to watch the movie is to purchase a ticket at your local movie theater. You can find a showing at a theater near you via Fandango.

Is the Air movie streaming?
No, not yet. For now, the movie is only in theaters. That said, Air is an Amazon Studios original movie, and we do expect that the movie will be streaming on Amazon, free to Prime subscribers, eventually.
When will Air 2023 be on Amazon Prime Video?
The short answer? We don’t know. Amazon has not yet announced an Amazon Prime release date for Air. That said, we can make an educated guess based on past Amazon Studio film releases. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon frequently released its original movies in theaters for a full theatrical run, before moving the titles to Amazon Prime. The last example of this is the 2019 Mindy Kaling film Late Night, which opened in theaters on June 7, 2019, and began streaming on Amazon Prime three months later, on September 6, 2019. If Air follows that release pattern, you won’t see it on Amazon Prime until July 2023.
However, it’s likely Air will be on Prime sooner than that, given that the traditional theatrical window has shortened from three months to about 45 days, in the wake of the pandemic. This is not a hard and fast rule, but our best guess is that Air will release on Amazon Prime around mid-May 2023, possibly May 13, which will be 45 days after the movie opens in theaters.
Again, this is all guesswork, so take it with a grain of salt. For now, the best way to watch Ben Affleck and Matt Damon save the future of Nike is in a movie theater.
