Cook as Jennifer “JJ” Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Aisha Tyler as Tara Lewis, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, and Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss. We follow the team of experts as they search for a manipulative murderer named Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), who spent his COVID-19 lockdown assembling and training a network of serial killers online.

What To Expect In The Second Half of Criminal Minds: Evolution? Will There Be A Season 2 of Criminal Minds: Evolution?
Back in December 2022, Decider’s Raven Brunner interviewed Criminal Minds: Evolution showrunner Erica Messer and learned a bit about what fans can expect after the show returns from its mid-season break. “The first five episodes show Elias winning against the BAU. And then in the last five, the tables turn a little bit and he starts devolving a bit. And that’s when the BAU can always find out more because the unsub starts making mistakes,” Messer explained.
When asked if there’s a specific killer or episode she’s most excited for fans to see, Messer said, “They’re all amazing and they all bring such a cool new texture to the show. I can’t pick a favorite, but I am really excited for you to meet to get to know Cyrus a little bit more. Also, in episode four, when he is cleaning up the blood, he has that flash of someone and you don’t really know who it is, but we’ll learn a lot more about him in the second half of the season.”
And for fans wondering if we could see a Season 2 of Criminal Minds: Evolution, Messer said that she and the writers have definitely started talking. “Hopefully there will be good news on that in the new year, but we can’t stop thinking about it,” she shared. “I love this group of actors and I think we have such a fondness for one another. They’re huge fans of this. I mean, they were fans of the original, but they’re huge fans of this serialized version.”
