What’s true and false about the Yankees’ trend of dipping in June

The calendar was in the final days of May, and still there was panic about a June swoon.

The Yankees had just lost two of three to the Dodgers in Los Angeles — the one win was actually the only game of the series that was played in June — and as they flew home, there were fears from the fanbase about the month ahead.

Their six-game losing streak and 30-inning scoreless streak this week did not do much to quell those worries.

If this all feels too familiar, it is because we saw a version of it last season. The Yankees lost two of three to the Dodgers from June 7-9, then went to Kansas City and won three of four before losing two of three to the Red Sox. They matched a season high by being 28 games over .500 at 50-22 on June 14, then went 10-23 through July 26.
