When Angela Johnson and Kyle Chrisley separated, Johnson still shared custody of Chloe Chrisley with Todd and Julie Chrisley. But she was adamant that Kyle should never be involved, as he allegedly hurt her physically when she was still pregnant with Chloe.
“He grabbed me and choked me when I was pregnant,” she told Life & Style. “There was a time when he got mad at me and came at me with a knife while I was holding Chloe. He was talking about stabbing me, then threw a bottle of pills and hit me and Chloe right in the face with them.” She also claimed that Kyle is only feigning interest when it came to parenting their child. “Kyle is saying he wants Chloe, but he’s really after money.” However, Kyle refuted it, saying, “She’s a mental case. I don’t want any money. I want my daughter.”

But, come 2016, Johnson lost all rights to her daughter when she used her status as Chloe’s mother to commit fraud. Real Mr. Housewife reported that she had been arrested after it was discovered that, even after losing custody, she was still claiming Chloe as a dependent in order to gain Medicaid benefits and accrue food stamps. At the time, the Chrisley family decided to sweep the issue under the rug as they already had custody of Chloe. “We have no knowledge of this and it doesn’t affect us personally,” they said.
