The family reunion we’ve all been waiting for is finally here.
On Friday, July 4, Oasis played together for the first time in nearly 16 years. Their gig, which took plate Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, was the first of their international ‘Live ’25 Tour’ and seemingly went off without a hitch.
According to Set List FM, Liam and Noel Gallagher performed 23 songs including all-timer fan favorites “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Morning Glory” and “Live Forever” among others. Some tracks that made the cut hadn’t been played in nearly 30 years; “Whatever” returned with Liam on vocals for the first time since 1996. Now that’s a throwback.
“It was a living, breathing, rumbling thing,” The New York Times wrote in a review of the raucous Wales evening. “…capturing the swell of a nation that met its cultural moment, sometimes with cheers, sometimes with fists.”
Come late August, the beloved ’90s icons will beam their way across the pond to perform at stadiums all over North America. That includes a pair of gigs at East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 1 with special guest Cage The Elephant.
