Out of Kody Brown’s four wives, Christine Brown was the one who played a big part in raising the kids and maintaining the household. She has been known as the homemaker in the family since “Sister Wives” started, something that she takes pride in.
But come Season 17, it was revealed that she had to maintain a job in the early years of their marriage as they needed more income. She recalled that it was around she was pregnant with Truely, the turning point of their relationship. “Where mine and Kody’s marriage started to disintegrate is actually when I was pregnant with Truely. I was overwhelmed with everything. I still had to, like, produce some kind of income, so I was working at night,” she recounted (via Starcasm). “I asked Kody, I said, “I need your help.” And he goes, “I can’t do that. I’m in other houses… I just can’t.” While she didn’t reveal what job it was, Starcasm discovered that she once worked as a partnership assistant for the U.S. Census in Denver, Colorado, where she likely fielded calls and performed data entry tasks. And per her bankruptcy filing following Truely’s birth, Christine disclosed that she made around $1,200 a month at the time.

What’s more, per InTouch Weekly, Christine had a side hustle as a retailer for a company called LuLaRoe. It’s a multi-level marketing company that sells women’s clothing, and given how Christine had amassed a massive following thanks to the show, she likely also earned hefty commissions.
