Aussie tourist Jazz Walsh was left stunned when her Bali villa was raided by a rogue monkey

A monkey has ransacked the room of an Australian tourist at a luxury Bali villa, taking off with the guest’s AirPods and leaving the room in disarray.

Sydney office worker Jazz Walsh was getting a ‘relaxing’ massage when she received a video message from an employee of the Korowai resort in Uluwatu, Bali.

The video, which Ms Walsh shared to social media on Tuesday, depicted her dishevelled room where her belongings had been strewn across the floor.

‘Good afternoon, madam. I think a monkey (has come) through your room,’ the employee could be heard saying.

He said the monkey had likely gained access through a bathroom window before leaving a trail of destruction.

‘I’m afraid that the monkey were coming in from the outside, going inside,’ he said.

Staff were alerted to the disturbance after discovering a pair of headphones which, the employee said, had been flung through the window.

Ms Walsh added her AirPods had been poached during the raid, claiming they must have been taken out of their case, which was left behind.

‘Those silly cheeky Bali monkeys,’ Ms Walsh wrote alongside the video.

‘(It) was hard to be annoyed when it was so funny’.

Viewers of the video were left stunned, with most taking the side of the monkey.

‘I don’t know what’s cuter – the monkey sneaking in or the sweet gentleman explaining the situation,’ one woman wrote.

The four-star resort is located steps away from the popular tourist spot, Bingin Beach, and features a sprawling terrace, garden and cliffside restaurant.

It is not the first time a traveller has fallen pray to ‘mischievous’ monkeys at the villa.

Last year, British traveller Sylvia wrote a review of the accommodation warning guests to keep their doors and windows locked at all times.

‘During my stay (the monkeys) even stole the lightbulbs of my terrace, I mean the audacity!’ she wrote for The Good Observer blog.

‘I locked myself in and I watched them having fun in my pool and everywhere on the terrace!

‘They are funny for sure but make sure you never leave anything outside and doors/windows are always locked.’

In a follow-up post, Ms Walsh said she had changed to a nearby resort in the mountains of Uluwatu after the ‘monkey situation’.

Despite the disturbance, Ms Walsh encouraged a follower who was planning a trip to the villa to go ahead with their plans.
