Dust from a wild storm which hit parts of South Australia has been blown thousands of kilometres to the nation’s east coast.

A dusty haze is hanging in the air in Sydney Canberra and other parts of the ACT and NSW.

It has left to a warning of ‘very poor’ air quality across Sydney

Richmond in the north-west and Wollongong in the south and Wyong on the NSW Central Coast have warnings in place.

Locals are being told to stay inside if they can, especially if over 65, pregnant or if they have health conditions.

Drivers in South Australia were warned to pull over when visibility became so bad yesterday afternoon.

The state was also hit by wild winds and high seas.
