The wanted man pointed a firearm at officers on Calvary Court in Labrador before he fled in a stolen vehicle at 8.15am today, according to Queensland Police.

The car came to a stop on Brisbane Road in Arundel, where a second confrontation allegedly took place at 9.30am and the man was shot by police.

The man was given immediate medical assistance by police and paramedics but he died at the scene.

The shooting is under investigation by the Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
