In a speech at the Chifley Research Centre Conference, Albanese will urge Australians to ignore misinformation about the Voice and support the referendum.

Albanese will say in his speech, that people on social media are ”drumming up outrage, trying to start a culture war”.

“That’s an inevitable consequence of trying to achieve change,” his speech says.

“There are always those who want to create confusion and provoke division, to try and stall progress.”

Albanese has previously said the Voice is about giving Indigenous Australians a say on the issues affecting them.

The speech comes as federal parliament prepares to return for the year on Monday.
