Virgin confirmed to Weekend Today that the aircraft was experiencing a cabin pressure issue that required the plane to fly at a lower altitude.

Passengers were not injured during the ordeal.

Virgin are trying to accommodate passengers who were expecting to land in Darwin.

An investigation is underway to figure out what caused the issue.
