Virgin Australia has cancelled five flights as passengers face a sixth day in a row of travel delays with huge crowds piling into Sydney Airport.
The airline cancelled the flights scheduled to leave Sydney Airport on Tuesday due to operational reasons.
Impacted travellers were notified of the cancellations by 4am on Tuesday and were put on the next available flight.
Passengers can request a travel credit if the next available service is not an option for them.
‘We apologise to anyone impacted by delayed or cancelled services and we continue to work hard to ensure our guests reach their destinations,’ a Virgin Australia spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia.
‘We continue to communicate with guests whose flights are disrupted and ensure they are accommodated on the next available services.’

Sydney Airport has meanwhile been overwhelmed with passengers trying to board a flight after several days of continuous cancellations and delays.
On Monday, 18 domestic services destined to land at Sydney Airport – including from Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, the Gold Coast and Griffith were all cancelled.
A further 13 flights scheduled to leave Sydney were also scrapped – with affected destinations including Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart and the Gold Coast.
An airport spokesman said the cancellations are a knock-on effect from the weather-related disruptions that took place over the weekend.

A severe shortage of air traffic controllers – due to staff illnesses in Brisbane – has also contributed to widespread chaos to flights along the country’s east coast since Thursday.

The ongoing disruptions coincide with the start of the NSW school holidays.
One distraught traveller burst into tears after arriving at the airport on Monday to learn her flight had been cancelled, throwing her holiday into disarray.
‘I had a 7.30am flight and my ticket now says it’s 5pm,’ she told the ABC.
‘I didn’t get an email or anything.
‘I’m devastated, I’m sad, I want to go on my trip and it’s not working out for me.
‘I’m really stressed right now and there’s no resolution. We’re all confused.’
One man has been trying to get to the Gold Coast to visit his children since Friday but has had back-to-back flight cancellations.

He woke up at 4am to get to airport, where he was notified his flight had been rescheduled by another two days.
‘I came here on Friday afternoon and it was cancelled while we were waiting at the bar. My bags were already checked in,’ he told the ABC.
‘We had to retrieve our bags and spend $200 getting here and back plus extras, including car hire.’
‘Now we’ve been rescheduled to Wednesday. That’s half our holiday.’
A Garuda Indonesia flight from Bali, a Chinese Eastern Airlines flight from Wuhan, and a Virgin Australia flight from Nadi were among the international flight cancelled on Monday.
